Air Asia expands

Malaysian budget airline Air Asia has announced the opening of the world's first

global budget airline in July. Air Asia X flights from Kuala Lumpur to London will

cost as little as 9.99 ringgit ($2.84), founder Tony Fernandes said. Destinations

will include Europe, Australia, China and India. Seats to Britain will be available

on the internet from February and Fernandes said Air Asia X will join other low-cost

carriers to increase route networks.
