In Brief: Power station to open

A 90 megawatt coal power plant in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will go online in 2010, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced Tuesday. The PM encouraged all SEZs to have their own power plants, saying that when electricity is cut off it affects factory profitability. He said that SEZ power plants should negotiate with Electricite du Cambodge to sell unused power back to the national grid.
