Six hundred vendors at Boeung Chhok market in Battambang town have yet to reach an agreement with market owner Oknha Tan Chhun over new lease contracts for their stalls in 2007, local newspapers report.

Vendors have demanded that Chhun decrease lease fees of $37 and $25 to $15 and $10, according to local media. The vendors also proposed that the contracts be signed for 10-year periods and that a new requirement for them to pay the 10 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) be removed.
