The Cambodian government launched its third five-year plan, the National Strategic
Development Plan (NSDP) for 2006-2010 on August 15. Planning Minister Chhay Than
announced at the launching ceremony that the main targets of the NSDP were to reduce
poverty and increase national economic growth. The NSDP plans to reduce poverty to
25 percent by 2010.
