The New Zealand government will donate $1

million each year for the next five years to help about 190,000 people living

around Angkor Wat temple. According to local media, the aid program would aim to

reduce poverty, encourage tree planting around the World Heritage Site, and

educate residents about protecting the temples and tourism.
