RICE firm Loran Import Export Company is looking to export up to 60,000 tonnes of jasmine rice to the United States markets in 2011, company President Lim Bun Heng said yesterday. He will travel to the US in October to meet interested buyers, with a view to securing sales of around 5,000 tonnes of rice per month. In March the company invested US$1.6 million to build a rice-processing and packaging factory in Battambang province. The plant is expected to be complete by November this year.
