T hailand's prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, now overthrown, pledged $1 million to assist Cambodia in the China-Asean rail linkage project, the Bangkok Post reported on September 11. The money would be used to transport donated rail tracks from Malaysia to complete the construction of the 48km of railway from Poipet to Sisophon, destroyed by the Khmer Rouge.
