Cops end ‘poor man’s Poipet’ in Pursat town

A couple accused of allowing their house to be used as a gambling den was arrested in Pursat town on Monday. Police say the pair made the gamers addicted to wagering on cards by turning their house into a virtual mini-casino.

When the authorities arrived to crack down on the alleged operation, however, the players fled. One neighbour said villagers played day and night, and it disturbed the community. DEUM AMPIL
