Defender of the peace fails to defend wallet

A police officer in the capital’s Chamkarmon district found himself the victim of the very sort of crime he is responsible to curb early Tuesday morning.

The 51-year-old officer had been drinking and singing karaoke, police said. On his walk home, five men on three motorbikes beat him and stole his necklace, mobile phone and wallet – containing a whopping $1,220 and his ID. His co-workers are searching for the suspects. NOKORWAT
