On May 25, the residence of the Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia organised a concert in cooperation with the Chiara Angkor music project. The Chiara Angkor Music project is a private Japanese organisation that has been working to promote classical music in Cambodia for many years. This year, the project selected Chuon Sosunny, a young and talented Cambodian pianist, to participate in a short music programme in Japan in August, and they organised yesterday’s charity concert to help facilitate her trip to Japan. Thursday’s concert featured performances by Japanese musicians Satomi Ogawa, a soprano singer; Kosuke Iwakura, a pianist; Cambodian pianist Chuon Sosunny; clarinetist Ikeda Bonsamnang, among others.
