On Saturday, The Moon Shoes Collection held its Miss “The Moon” 2016 beauty contest to promote and support the value of Khmer design and fundraise to support the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap. The event, hosted at the Le Meridien Angkor hotel, aimed to provide a special opportunity for young, ambitious women to put themselves into the national spotlight, allowing them to showcase their talents, speaking skills and looks. The Moon Shoes Collection said these were among the key qualities that a modern woman should have. The company said the contest was also meant to focus the nation’s attention on Siem Reap for a reason other than the city’s Angkor Arcahaeological Park by holding the unique contest and gala dinner.
