House of the holy fails to hide bag snatchers

To thieves, even pagodas are no longer sacred, a female victim learned on Monday. The woman was on her way to pray at a pagoda in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district when two men riding a moto allegedly snatched her necklace, police said.

The necklace snapped and the men allegedly rode away until a passerby shouted for help. Nearby police chased the suspects and found them hiding in the pagoda. The men were arrested. DEUM AMPIL
