AFTER spending a whole day studying and working, how do you feel?  Exhausted, bored, maybe stressed?  In times of hardship, take time to relax and rejuvenate.  Just chill for a few hours!  Good, now that you’re convinced I have the perfect place for you: Sokhathid Massage, a top-notch new massage parlour in Phnom Penh.

Located in building #25, Street 1986 in Sen Sok district, Sokhathid welcomes customers every day from 10am to 10pm.  You can go alone, as a couple, or with family and friends.  Before going inside, take a moment to admire the building’s interesting architecture and tasteful decoration.  Inside you’ll find a friendly place with a smiling receptionist and staff waiting to please.

Various treatments are available, including foot massages, body massages, and oil massages.  Additionally, you can receive a steam bath and order any drink for free.  As if that wasn’t good enough, the Sokhathid provides a discounted price every day from 10am to 2pm.

When I went, I chose to get a body massage and was rewarded with one full hour of complete relaxation.

The massage room itself sported an air-conditioner, an LCD television, a toilet, three beds, a carpeted floor, and two small tables to hold all the massage oils and lotions.

I was asked to change into loose clothing before the massage began.  I lay down and entrusted myself to the expert masseuses.  The massage was followed by 15 minutes in a gender segregated steam room.  When that was through with, I was allowed to shower and change back into my clothes.

After all was said and done, I felt positively fresh, and perhaps even healthier.  The owner of Sokhathid Massage told me that the place is a real health and beauty massage parlour.  Still, it’s worth it to consider the prices, which are out of the reach for most high school and university students.  There are cheaper alternatives for staying healthy, like spending an hour at the gym where you can also meet up with friends.
