Mrs. Pivoine Beang, LIFT editor
I also gained lots of experience in the areas of cultural consumption and exhibition preparation while working as an intern at the Australian Museum in Sydney, Australia. As well as that, I have undertaken several journalism courses at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
In addition to studying abroad, I have worked for the Documentation Centre of Cambodia (DC-Cam) as a researcher and writer. My biggest achievements from that time are two books, Vanished: The Stories From Cambodia’s New People Under Democratic Kampuchea and Stilled Lives: The Photographs From Cambodia’s Genocide, and a film, Preparing for Justice. During my time at DC-Cam, I contributed ideas to the organisers of the annual Youth Festival and led some exhibitions during the festival that were staged by the International Republican Institute (IRI) and Youth Council of Cambodia (YCC).
