The United Nation's review of recent corruption allegations at the ECCC has been turned over to the Cambodian government, according to court spokesman Peter Foster.

The file was given to Deputy Prime Minister Sok An's office and did not go through UNAKRT or the ECCC, Foster said. He added that there has not yet been a public response from the Cambodian government, but that he expects an official statement in the near future.

"Since we don't know the contents of the file or results of the review, it is impossible to speculate about jurisdictions or obligations," Foster wrote by email.

Funding earmarked for the court has been frozen while the UN's Office of Internal Oversight Services has reviewed the allegations.

"The release of funds depends on the resolution of the current allegations and a joint decision by the donors to move forward," a representative from UNDP wrote by email Thursday. "UNDP is working very closely with donors and other UN offices to determine options for the way forward."
