The Cambodia Agricultural Value Chain Program Phase II (CAVAC II) is a large agricultural development program supported by the Australian Government. It focuses on research, extension, irrigation, agribusiness and policy. CAVAC II has the purpose of increasing the productivity and incomes of small farmers and trade in milled rice and other crops by strengthening market systems and investing in irrigation infrastructure. The program is based in Phnom Penh. We aim to change the way markets work so that small farmers get a better deal, and markets grow sustainably for the benefit of all. We seek opportunities to influence and facilitate change in support of the vision of business-people. We pay particular attention to gender and the way markets can be changed to support women and girls.


Intervention managers work with the private sector in thematic areas where both farmers and business stakeholders benefit. It is a multi-functional role requiring significant travel to provinces. Curiosity and an entrepreneurial understanding of the market are key attributes for the position. Intervention managers use their curiosity and entrepreneurial ability to seek out opportunities with the private sector.
