Aide et Action International (AEAI) is an international NGO, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. AEA International began its programs in 1981 and is now working in more than 20 countries across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia and China to support the development of sustainable education projects with our belief in the universal right to a quality education.

 

Activities in South East Asia and China started in 2001. Our approaches focus on early transformation during two time periods which are most critical in a child’s schooling, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) to basic education. We are currently recruiting a leading, challenging, creative, enthusiastic and innovative candidate to fill the position of Regional Director (RD).

 

The job holder will be responsible for overall leadership of the region and programs and play key leadership role to lead regional and country teams in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and China and possibility in other countries. He represents the region to development partners, government agencies, and key education stakeholders. The RD will play a key role to develop Regional Strategic plan and lead the implementation to ensure high quality program design, implementation, accountability, and promote learning and share good practices across countries.

 

Core Responsibilities:

♦ Leads the development and implementation of AEA SEAC’s overall educational program strategy in line with the organization’s Strategic Plan;

♦ Ensure that all that staff under supervision have clear performance goals, indicators and development plans which enable them to succeed; ensure this process is carried out at all countries’ level;

♦ Ensure the effective management of the division’s resources (financial, technical and operational) in order to achieve the regional strategic objectives;

♦ Develops and manages the flow of information regarding AEAI SEAC’s evolving regional key concepts programming, social enterprise concepts, to both internal and external stakeholders, with a particular focus on changes in plans and overall programs progress, challenges and achievements;

♦ Lead the implementation of regional program/projects and support the implementation of countries programs;

♦ Develop relationships and partnerships and negotiate with international and national partners as well as government and donors for existing and future program development opportunities within the relevant country;

♦ Monitor program quality and/or effectiveness systems (monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning) within the region;

♦ Ensure the development and implementation of resource mobilization strategies, aligned with other relevant organization corporate strategies to position AEA and program quality strongly within the regions and to secure agreed revenue targets;

♦ Lead the team in identifying and developing opportunities for emerging and innovative financing within the, and advise on appropriate strategies and approaches to seize them

 

Key Qualifications:

♦ A Master’s Degree in Project Management, Social Science, Education, International Development, International Relations or related disciplines;

♦ At least 10 years professional experience in a managerial role, with demonstrated success in managing teams, program implementation and management, and working through delegated functional leaders;

♦ Proven track record of achieving results and ability to cope up with multiple priorities and be able to take initiative;

♦ Prior experiences in a fast-paced global and/or regional organization aiming for results and growth;

♦ Experiences in developing organizational strategies;

♦ An energetic self-starter with the resilience, pace, interpersonal flexibility and comfort with ambiguity to succeed within the evolving and sometimes demanding culture;

♦ Bi-lingual: English and French languages preferred
