The Laboratory Technical Officer will work under the direction of the CTB CoP with strong linkages to other FHI 360 TB units. The Laboratory Technical Officer will work in close coordination with CTB partners and government counterparts, particularly the National Center for Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control (CENAT), province and district health officials; as well as other TB partners to provide technical support on laboratory with the follow-up visits to include corrective actions and capacity building initiatives. S/he assists with laboratory capacity building initiatives via preparing and delivering trainings as well as other technical services and duties. S/he prepares and delivers laboratory trainings and training-related services to government partners includes laboratory staff at reference and provincial labs.
Qualification Requirements: ♦ Master degree in biological or laboratory sciences within a clinical or diagnostic discipline or specialty. ♦ At least three years related work experience in laboratory quality assurance, quality control and audits. ♦ At least three years related work experience performing tuberculosis laboratory program. ♦ Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform quality assurance laboratory audits and assessments against accepted national and international standards and regulations. ♦ Demonstrated creative problem solving skills. ♦ Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills including experience in training and mentoring staff and others. ♦ Experience in collaboration with governmental authorities and national programme such as the national TB programme, as well as provincial and district health authorities ♦ Training and facilitation skills and experience ♦ Well-developed written and oral communication skills. ♦ Strong computer skills
