Job Title: Market Research Manager

Report to: Head of Research

Location: Head Office

Closing Date: September 10, 2015


Job Responsibilities:

► Contribute to development of the overall strategy and work-plan for market research in line with AMK's strategic plan

► Coordination and implementation of related market surveys and field visits included data collection, storage and cleaning

► Identify and determine the scope of marketing research needs, including secondary research and research design

► Analyze research and develop concise and thorough reports as well as summarizing key findings and making related recommendations

► Prepare plan for market research and cooperate with social research team as needed

► Develop and manage all aspect of the Market Intelligence project which responsible on:

  • Keep up to date the competitors' products, services, positioning and strategies and do SWOT analysis

  • Keep up to date the economic macro data to support management decision making and AMK client data

► Support other departments on market data and information for new product, strategy, and campaign development or modification. Initiate new proposal on market strategies to contribute the success of AMK

► Provide continuous on-the-job training for the internal research team

► Undertake research independently and make recommendations based on the analysis


Qualification and Experiences:

► Bachelor (or an equivalent university degree) in economics or business management.

► Strong conceptualization, analytical skills and capacity to contribute to future planning

► Two or more years of quantitative and qualitative research experience, preferably with microfinance research experiences

► Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, especially report writing in English and Khmer

► Honesty, positive attitude and ability to think creatively, as well as to relate well to other and to work independently without close supervision and strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, and statistical software)

► Knowledge and understanding of research design, quantitative analysis tools; and experience coordinate fieldwork

► Excellent interviewing skills and capacity to carry out research independently

► Willingness and capacity to carry out fieldwork involving significant travel to rural areas
