Title: Social Media Advisor Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia Period of Performance: LTTA – on/about June 15, 2016 – June 14, 2017.
DAI is an employee-owned global development company that has worked with thousands of local businesses and civil society organizations (CSOs) in Cambodia over the past 30 years. Development Innovations is a three-year, USAID-funded project (2013-2016) implemented by DAI that supports civil society and social innovators to use technology in support of Cambodia’s development goals. The experimental project offers funding and resources to build capacity and interest in information and communication technology (ICT) for development and has established the 5D co-working and innovation Lab to offer direct services to civil society and techies. The project is seeking a consultant for the Social Media Advisor position.
Responsiblities The Social Media Advisor will be responsible for training and mentoring civil society and private sector partners that engage with the Advisory Service team within the Innovation Lab at Development Innovations. The Advisor will work closely with the Innovation Program Manager to ensure that our coaching services and trainings meet the needs of civil society. Duties & responsibilities include:
♦ Provide consultation & on-field support in the planning and production of social media strategies to help our partners tell their story and communicate more effectively to their beneficiaries, funders or partners. ♦ Manage the social media training application process and select targeted CSOs who are interested in improving their social media skills. ♦ Market and promote the social media advisory service to potential partners. ♦ Identify new stories, content, and services that can be referred to other colleagues within the DI project, where relevant. ♦ Collaborate with other colleagues to provide support and advise on social media strategy. ♦ Lead monthly training sessions for CSO partners on social media strategy, analytics, and campaigns. ♦ Develop new training materials and courses on social media based on market demand. ♦ Assist in the development and execution of the business plan for the Innovation Lab.
Skills and Experience ♦ Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in social media and training ♦ Highly desirable: 1-3 years of relevant experience in social media marketing, campaign development, or social media training ♦ An understanding of Facebook Insights, analytics, and how data is used to influence social media campaigns. ♦ Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities ♦ Demonstrated hands-on training and mentoring skills ♦ Good attention to detail, deadlines and demonstrates initiative ♦ Good track record of production of high quality social media campaigns ♦ Excellent inter-personal and communication skills ♦ A genuine interest in technology and how it can help civil society ♦ Fluency in English (both written and oral) is desirable ♦ Fluency in Khmer is essential
