  Alive & Thrive (A&T) is an initiative that began in 2008 aimed at saving lives, preventing illness, and ensuring healthy growth and development. Good nutrition in the first 1,000 days, from conception to two years of age, is critical to enable all children to lead healthier and more productive lives. A&T is scaling up improved infant and young child feeding and maternal nutrition through large-scale programs in several countries in Asia and Africa and through strategic technical support and the dissemination of innovations, tools, and lessons worldwide. A&T is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation and the governments of Canada and Ireland.   In Cambodia, A&T in partnership with UNICEF, Helen Keller International and other government, non-government and multilateral partners have been supporting a multi-stakeholder country-team to identify and execute a joint advocacy work-plan that focuses primarily on the BMS Code enforcement, maternity protection including breastfeeding support at workplace, and establishment of Centers of Excellence for Breastfeeding.   The Technical Specialist – Health System Strengthening & Advocacy will support the development and execution of workplans for policy advocacy, strategic communications and breastfeeding-friendly health system work plans for Cambodia including establishment of centers of excellence for breastfeeding across the country.   Qualification Requirements: ♦ Master’s degree, medical doctor degree or similar qualifications in the field Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Human Development or commensurate experience. ♦ At least 5 years’ experience on infant and young child health and nutrition issues, particularly breastfeeding. ♦ Demonstrated experience in working with local government sector is critical. ♦ Excellent communication, and organization skills are required. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent Khmer and English. ♦ Has sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in assigned areas. ♦ Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), multilateral organization, government agency, or private company. ♦ Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with providing technical support for research studies. ♦ Excellent organizational, technical writing and analytical skills. ♦ Excellent and demonstrated public relations, interpersonal relations, public speaking, and diplomacy skills required.   Please send a completed Bio-data form and CV with a letter of application (not exceeding 2 pages) explaining your specific qualifications for the position to Ms. Nhim Sreytoch via: [email protected] (Put the position title in your email and on your CV and cover letter documents) or FHI 360 Office # 3, St. 330, Boeung Keng Kang 3, Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh.
