What’s your stance on vehicle insurance?

Say Lalin, 21 years old, student at the Royal University of Phnom Penh
“Driving a vehicle under an insurance policy is not important. It all depends on the driver’s skills on the road and how good she or he is. Careless drivers will be accident-prone. Besides, insurance companies will not cover any accident-related cost or be of any help if the driver’s responsibility is involved in any breach of the insurance policy contract or did not fully abide by it.”

Noun Vannat, 22 years old, student at the Royal University of Agriculture
“A car or a motorbike with insurance does not mean that it will not get into a traffic accident. By no means, can vehicle insurances prevent accidents from happening. Driving safely is essential. Some people buy a vehicle insurance and turn out to be careless. This can cause a car crash!”

Rotha Puthika, 18 years old, students at Zaman University
“I think that vehicle insurance can have a lot of advantages. Buying vehicle insurance can save you a lot of money if you get involved in a car crash. Accidents happen without warning. The car gets damaged, drivers and passengers get hurt. This has a huge cost that the insurance company can then cover”.

Kea Vanchanraya, 22 years old, student at Build Bright University
“I think that a comprehensive vehicle insurance policy is very useful because it offers financial protection against unexpected traffic accidents. The victim or the vehicle owner may get compensation from the insurance company. However, some people indulge in carless driving and feel above the law with their insurance. This is not good at all! I think that no matter what, the driver should obey traffic laws, and be highly aware of their responsibility while driving.”

Heng HangTong, 19 years old, student at the International University
“Today’s traffic situation in Cambodia is getting worse and worse; many drivers just do not care about traffic laws. Sometimes, we do drive carefully. But other drivers do not pay attention at all to what goes on around them on the road and can totally cause an accident. So, it is more convenient to drive an insured vehicle. We feel safer. In case of accident or any other problem, we will not be worried so much about it.”
