Seventeen Vietnamese girls who were rescued by police from two Svay Pak brothels
on August 7 will not be charged with illegal immigration. The deputy head of the
interior ministry's anti-trafficking unit said the girls would not be deported or
charged as they were victims. Touch Ngim said two women from one brothel had been
charged with illegally detaining the girls, who are all staying at a local NGO.
