17 girls rescued

Seventeen Vietnamese girls who were rescued by police from two Svay Pak brothels

on August 7 will not be charged with illegal immigration. The deputy head of the

interior ministry's anti-trafficking unit said the girls would not be deported or

charged as they were victims. Touch Ngim said two women from one brothel had been

charged with illegally detaining the girls, who are all staying at a local NGO.
