The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria awarded $31.5 million to Cambodia in
the second round of allocations on January 31. The three-year grant has $14.8 million
for AIDS programs, $6.6 million for TB and $10 million to fight malaria. Geeta Sethi
of UNAIDS said it provided an excellent opportunity to fight HIV/AIDS, expand prevention
and ensure comprehensive care. That would include providing anti-retroviral drugs,
treating sexually transmitted infections, counseling and support. The funding will
be received in six months.
