Assembly to discuss border demarcation

Var Kimhong, senior minister in charge of border affairs, will meet with the National Assembly today to discuss the country’s border-demarcation process, Leng Penglong, secretary general of the National Assembly, said on Wednesday, adding that the meeting followed requests for clarification from the Sam Rainsy Party. Son Chhay, an SRP lawmaker, said the party had received “many complaints” from villagers who had lost land to alleged encroachments from Vietnam. He said that the government needs to take responsibility and properly compensate those affected by border issues.
