Assembly talks territorial integrity

ASEAN countries should avoid intervening in each other’s internal issues and cease territorial invasions, parliamentarians said yesterday during an ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly meeting. Ahead of the 2012 ASEAN summit to be held in Phnom Penh the Cambodian National Assembly yesterday called for the introduction of technical experts to monitor the workings of AIPA members. “Each member must not invade territory, like Thailand invaded Cambodia land,” Senate vice-chairman Chhit Kimyeat said, adding regional environmental issues had become increasingly important.
