Three nominees to the National Auditing Authority, a government finance watchdog
body, were rejected in a Dec 28 National Assembly vote. In spite of lobbying by both
Prime Minister Hun Sen and President of the National Assembly Prince Norodom Ranariddh,
the three candidates - Chheang Vun (CPP), Chea Pen Chheang (Fun) and Sam Ramsek failed
to receive the necessary 2/3 majority support to ratify their appointments.
