THE groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Takhmao Bridge in Kandal province, the third on the Tonle Bassac River, took place yesterday and was attended by Prime Minister Hun Sen. Tram Iv Tek, Minister of Public Works and Transportation, said that the 855-metres long and 13.5-metres wide bridge would take 42 months to complete and would be paid for with a US$32.89-million loan from China.
