Japan has granted the Royal Government of Cambodia $4.77 million to fund bridge reconstruction

on National Highway 6A. Three bridges on the stretch of highway between Chroy Changvar

and Thnal Keng were severely damaged or destroyed by flooding caused by rains from

Hurricane Willy in 1996.

When the project is completed it is expected that the highway will remain passable

throughout the year.
