The National Election

Committee announced Saturday that foreigners will not be allowed to

participate in campaigns for district, municipal and provincial council

elections scheduled for May 17. "The regulation of the election

campaign is not different from the previous election campaigns, but

there is a new point that prohibits foreigners from participating," NEC

member Klok Buddhi said in a press release. The release states that the

campaign period will last from May 1 to May 15.
