In Brief: Govt hopes to host mine gathering

The government plans to submit a request to host a gathering of signatories to the Ottawa Treaty, an anti-personnel mine clearance convention, Prak Sokhon, a secretary of state at the Council of Ministers, said at the end of a conference on the government's national mine-clearance strategy. This year's gathering is to be held in Cartagena, Colombia. The 2010 gathering is scheduled forGeneva.
