A government adviser on border issues travelled Tuesday to Bangkok for a meeting with his Thai counterpart, top border negotiator Var Kimhong told the Post Monday. Neang Phat, who is also a secretary of state at the Defence Ministry, was scheduled to attend meetings that were expected to last through today, Var Kimhong said. Defence Ministry spokesman Chhum Socheat said the talks would focus on issues including cross-border weapons smuggling and human trafficking.
