In Brief: Old batteries bound for belgium

Twenty tonnes of old batteries collected from schools, markets and

hotels over the past two years will be sent to Belgium for recycling,

City Hall announced Thursday. The effort is intended to reduce the

environmental impact of the improper disposal of batteries. "Battery

waste affects people's health and the environment," said Phnom Penh

Deputy Governor Mann Chhoeun.
