The Khmer Rouge
tribunal will hold a public hearing on December 5 on the appeal by
co-prosecutors of the case put forward against former S-21 prison head
Kaing Guek Eak, also known as Duch. The hybrid court's co-prosecutors
argued in August that the court order did not represent the full extent
of his alleged crimes. Duch will be the first of five former Khmer
Rouge leaders to go on trial early next year.
