In Brief: Sand dredgers confiscated

Local authorities have confiscated more than 30 sand-dredging vessels from two different companies in Stung Haw district, Preah Sihanouk province. "We must combat all unlicensed sand-dredging activity," Sok Phorn, deputy cabinet director of Preah Sihanouk province, told the Post Sunday. Sok Phorn said the owners of the vessels confessed that they were unlicensed and said they were working for Attwood Export Import Co. He added that the vessels would remain at the port until a "solution" was reached.
