More than 3,200 illegal chainsaws are to be destroyed this year, Ty Sokhun, director of forestry administration for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said. More than a third of the country's 10,870 illegally owned chainsaws have now been impounded, he said. Try Chhuon, ADHOC coordinator at Kampot province, urged the government to consider selling them back to manufacturers.
