In Brief: Teng Savong made Sec of State

The National Assembly voted to promote Teng Savong to secretary of state at the Ministry of the Interior by a vote of 87 to five on Thursday, replacing deceased secretary of state Sin Pinsen. Teng Savong, formerly an  undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Interior, was previously in charge of the Department of Security, Logistics and Training, Judicial Police, Intervention and Anti-Narcotics. "I promise to work hard for the people and the nation," Teng Savong said.
