The number of road fatalities in Cambodia increased by 81 percent in August, compared with the same month in 2008, according to a new report released by the the Cambodia Road Crash and Victim Information System (RCVIS). August saw an estimated 1,065 casualties resulting from 399 crashes, according to reports from participating hospitals, health centres and traffic police departments in 24 provinces. Among the victims, 127 died and 380 were severely injured, the report said.
