The new UN-Asian Development Bank report "Millennium Development Goals: Progress

in Asia and the Pacific 2007" says Cambodia made strong progress since 1990

in children's education and HIV-AIDS prevention but performed poorly in environmental

protection and children's health. It said between 1990 and 2005 the mortality rate

of children under 5 rose by nearly 25%, from 115/000 deaths to 143/000, and there

was a 14% percent loss in the country's forest cover.
