PHNOM Penh Municipal Court yesterday heard the case against a married man charged with raping his 13-year-old sister-in-law in Meanchey district’s Chak Angre Krom commune. Uth Hoeun was arrested on July 26 after the victim’s older sister accused him of raping the girl seven times at his rental house. Luong Sokha, the accused’s defence lawyer, requested a minimum sentence due to the fact that the girl’s virginity remained intact. Presiding Judge Ker Sakhorn said a verdict would be announced December 24.
