Clarification

The German embassy would like to clarify some of the information in the

article "German government announces freeze in KR tribunal funding," in

the February 3 edition of the Post. According to the embassy, Wolfgang

Thierse, vice president of the German Bundestag, said he was concerned

about the corruption allegations in the KRT and expressed his

expectation that the issue would be addressed. Thierse made no

statement that the German government intends to freeze funding to the

court. The German government intends to continue to support the KRT.
