Local aspirations to cash in on illegal timber have been felled after authorities in Kampong Chhnang province busted a suspicious truckload of logs on Saturday.

Kampong Leng district police reported the vehicle being brought to their attention by local villagers after it appeared on a ferry destined for the provincial capital.

The timber and the truck were promptly impounded at the provincial forestry administration, unlike their elusive owner.
