A factory worker who is suing his former employer for unlawful dismissal appeared

in Phnom Penh municipal court on June 3 with his lawyer, Sam Rainsy, according to

a press release from the Free Trade of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The statement said that the worker and the employer were called to appear by the

judge, Kong Seth, so that they could negotiate a settlement, adding that this was

an historical breakthrough for a court to investigate a complaint from a worker who

alleges that he was wrongly dismissed.
