An unsigned government letter sent to all foreign embassies this week contained a
thinly veiled attack on US Ambassador Kent Wiedemann's comments about corruption.
It seems that Wiedemann's comment at an anti-corruption conference last week annoyed
the government.
He was quoted as saying: "In other countries, if leaders are found to be corrupt
they are thrown out." The letter advised other countries to stay out of Cambodia's
internal affairs.
