Fisherman Sok Yoeung, 62, oversees the netting of the few live fish remaining in the Tonle Sap river at Prek Phnov on Monday. Health concerns have arisen as fisherman continue to sell both live and dead fish collected from the river, which they say is polluted, for human consumption.

A man suspected of shooting dead two police officers in Phnom Penh was set to be charged today at the capital’s Municipal Court, Chuon Nar-in, chief of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police’s Criminal Bureau, said yesterday.

Chuon Narin said 41-year-old Nhean Thoeun, also known as Meang, was the main suspect in the double murder.

He was  arrested about 4:30pm on Friday  in the Doeum Mean commune, in Kandal province’s Takhmao district.

Police believe Nhean Tho-eun killed police officers Kong Vicheth and Roeun Po when they tried to arrest him last Sunday in the capital’s Tuol Kork district.
