PM Hun Sen appealed to donors for help in battling the country's drugs problem at
the nation's first collaborative drug workshop on May 6. He warned that if the country
did not get support to improve its drug control capacity, "then the organized
transnational crimes would shift their activities to Cambodia ... Support for us
is the support for the safety of your children's future". Hun Sen said the country
was committed to a drug-free ASEAN by 2015 and would ratify three international conventions
on drugs by the end of the year.
