Essential journalism

The Editor,

I object to the criticism a letter writer made about your publishing of the recent

grenade attack photos. I see the display as an essential part of journalism needed

in a free society. In this case the photos were needed to shock a world into seeing

the reality of terrorism. A sanitized version of your publication would serve little

good. Therefore, the complainant should see the value in your photos instead of criticizing

their content.
