European union pledges storm aid

The European Commission has pledged a further 7 million (US$9.8 million) in humanitarian aid to help victims of Typhoons Ketsana and Mirinae in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, the group said in a statement Thursday. A sum of 1.26 million is set to go to Cambodia to fund food, water, sanitation and education projects after Typhoon Ketsana devastated parts of the country last year.
