Evictees facing food shortages

Evictees from Kampong Thom’s Kraya commune face food shortages and poor health at their remote relocation site, villagers said on Tuesday. “The authorities provided us with 25 kilograms of rice, but that is not enough for my big family,” said Prum Roth, adding that his son has contracted malaria since the move. Pich Sophea, Santuk district governor, acknowledged that malaria is a risk at the new site, but said he had called doctors to treat the villagers.
