ABOUT 100 families from the Borei Keila community in Prampi Makara district protested outside their homes yesterday, after a development company allegedly began construction works around their homes before finalising compensation negotiations with affected residents. Om Nan, a representative of the residents, said the Phanimex company yesterday began building a fence around the site and bringing in building equipment. He said the protesters were all families of police officers and that the government had housed them in Borei Keila since 1979. Company representatives could not be reached for comment yesterday.
